Tsunami

The Murphy family is fine and well.

This morning at about 6:50, our island experienced a 7.9 earthquake. Soon thereafter, we turned on the computer and local radio station. The first wave hit around 15 minutes afterward and flooded the villages of Pago and Fagaitua. (about 8 miles from us). A second wave apparently hit the village of Leone.

Our village was not affected.

The island death toll stands at 14.

More information later.

Hi Phil and Jaime! We are so glad you aren't hurt. Crazy. We have been praying for everyone, and hope people can find their loved ones. Sean and I were both feelings like we wish we could be there to help. We love you guys and miss you.
